About Kiosk Browser Lockdown

Kiosk Browser Lockdown transforms any Android device into a secure public kiosk or interactive digital display. Lock down the user interface completely so visitors can only access the webpages you define—no access to Android settings, no switching between apps, no distractions.

This is the go-to solution for businesses deploying interactive signage, customer-facing kiosks, information terminals, and public displays. You control exactly what appears on screen and what users can do. The hardware menu button and screen-corner menu remain available for administrators, but end-users cannot escape the locked interface or adjust system settings.

Security and control come standard. Password-protect your settings with a customizable PIN (default 0000). Set the app as your default launcher to prevent accidental or intentional exits. Disable access to notifications, recent apps, and system dialogs so nothing interrupts the kiosk experience. Choose from 70+ configuration options to fine-tune every aspect of how the device behaves.

Manage content effortlessly with URL whitelists and blacklists, so you can allow specific webpages while blocking others. The idle page reload feature automatically refreshes content at your chosen interval, keeping displays fresh without manual intervention. Configure hardware controls for orientation and screen behaviour, and manage cache, cookies, and browsing history directly from the app.

Kiosk Browser Lockdown supports advanced features for demanding deployments. Print from your kiosk using Google Cloud Print or connect Bluetooth ESC/POS printers for receipts and labels. Scan barcodes and NFC tags to unlock new workflows. Upload photos directly from the device camera. Schedule automatic sleep and wake times to match your business hours. Add a custom screensaver with images, videos, or websites. Apply colour themes to match your branding.

For larger operations, remote management is available on a subscription basis—deploy and update multiple kiosks from a central dashboard. Bookmarks bar, JavaScript interface support, custom error and deny pages, and XML import/export round out the toolkit for integrators and developers.

Note: Chromebooks are not supported. On Xiaomi, Huawei, and Acer devices, you must manually set the default launcher in Android Settings before the app starts. All features are free to test; a licence is required for personal or commercial use. Kiosk Browser Lockdown uses Device Administrator permissions, which you can disable via Android Settings > Security > Device Admins before uninstalling.
